About
The legal and ethical framework governing health information on Elora.
Elora is a health information platform. The content published on this site is intended to provide general information about Lipedema: its definition, features, management options, and the evidence base for those options.
Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice. Nothing here replaces a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional who can assess your individual circumstances, history, and needs.
If you are concerned about your health, or if you think you may have Lipedema or a related condition, please consult your GP or a relevant specialist.
Where we describe the strength of evidence for a particular treatment or approach, we use the following ratings:
Strong: Multiple well-designed studies or a national clinical guideline supports this approach.
Emerging: Consistent findings in smaller studies, or clinical consensus in specialist practice, but not yet confirmed at scale.
Weak: Limited, contested, or insufficient evidence. Approaches in this category may be used in practice, but we cannot recommend them on the basis of current research.
These ratings reflect our honest assessment of the published evidence at the time of last review. They are not a substitute for specialist clinical judgement.
Lipedema research is evolving rapidly. We review and update content regularly. The last-reviewed date on each page indicates when it was last checked against current evidence. If you identify an error or outdated information, please contact us.
We link to external sources, including research papers, patient advocacy organisations, and clinical guidelines. We are not responsible for the content of those external sites.
If you are in a medical emergency, call your national emergency number immediately. Elora does not provide emergency support or crisis services.
If you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a GP or a mental health service in your country.
Elora provides information in good faith, on the basis of published evidence and clinical consensus. We cannot be held liable for decisions made on the basis of information on this site. Always seek individual medical advice for individual circumstances.
